Wind & Conditions

The main kitesurfing season on Hainan island is from late March until mid-late June. The winds blow around 80% of the time and most days are blessed with +30°C temperatures. The month of May can experience some rain showers. Throughout the main season, we are located primarily at Boao. The beach stretches some 5.3 kilometres. Its sand is soft and fine. The wind is side-onshore coming from a Southerly direction. There are some small entry Waves that are less than 1m so it’s beginner-friendly. The waters are clean and warm so a wetsuit is not really needed but if you prefer then a 2mm would suffice. There are no rocks, reef, hazardous obstacles or dangerous marine life to worry about.
